Clear Acrylic

Clear acrylic sheet entered the market during the 1930s and is now among the most common plastics found throughout the world. It’s also one of the most versatile. The benefits of this material are that it’s tough – much, much stronger than glass – yet lightweight and durable. There are various brands or types of clear acrylic available, including general acrylic, Plexiglas and Shinkolite.
Generic acrylic is the most cost effective option. Plexiglas has huge appeal as it comes with a 30-year guarantee, and has a lower thickness tolerance. Meanwhile, Shinkolite has the lowest thickness tolerance of the three – meaning it is perfect for printing – but accordingly it is an expensive product.
