A Plastic fabricator, cabinet maker, steel fabricator or those with a general trade background would be perfectly suited. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to be a part of creating something special in the role and building a long-term successful career.

Your new role:

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for some of the key production elements in the factory, an outstanding opportunity awaits for an experienced factory worker or someone who is willing to learn new skills and join our energetic and family-orientated team.

The diversity of the role means you will be covering a range of responsibilities including:

  • Select and prepare the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation work.
  • Use machinery including  table saw, drills, bending machines, milling machines etc to create our customers creations..
  • Reads and interprets manufacturing drawings, determine next steps and prepare materials, packing, sort and assemble jobs.
  • Verifies dimensions of parts and quality of finish.
  • Fits and assembles parts and attaches hardware fittings such as hinges, locks, catches, drawer runners and fasteners.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements as per manufacturer's instructions; troubleshoots malfunctions and organises repair.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and abide by workplace safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough inventory regularly to ensure there is enough stock for upcoming orders
  • Other tasks as directed

About you

Our ideal candidate will have a great positive attitude, excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team. As well, they will have skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Cabinet making (Kitchens and Bathrooms) of Furniture Certificate III preferred but not required
  • Forklift licence required
  • 1 years previous experience in similar role or industry is desirable

Skills:

  • Organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Read and interpret routine information on written job instructions and standard operating procedures. including engineering drawings
  • Attention to detail

A newly created role after a period of growth and a bright future has us looking for a highly organised open-minded, passionate action-taker to join our team as Warehouse Supervisor. This a new role and an exciting opportunity for someone to be a part of creating something special in the role and building a long-term successful career.

Your new role:

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and organised coordination of warehouse & purchasing, inventory and dispatch activities at our Silverwater warehouse. The diversity of the role means you will be covering a range of responsibilities including:

Business Related

  • Plan, organise and control all warehouse & procurement operations
  • Inventory control - manage stock levels & locations
  • Manage warehouse team (Storeman 1 person)
  • Maintain high levels of housekeeping of warehouse and site
  • To fulfil all documentation requirements for proper warehouse administration, purchase orders for financial and dispatch purposes.
  • To liaise with all other departments to ensure correct deliverable to Customers are achieved in a correct and timely manner.
  • Brief management on a weekly basis and as necessary
  • Work with accounts payable to make sure information is accurate prior to entering into the accounting system
  • To operate the warehouse compliant to all Quality Management System procedures and Work Instructions, and implement quality control techniques and procedures
  • To report any and all notifiable incidents and events that Management needs to know.
  • Responsible for licensing requirements current (up to date)
  • Archiving & Document Filing

Warehouse Related

  • Daily consumable stock replenishment (using ERP)
  • Fulfil objectives of the management team (control of material costs in particular)
  • Ensure team use material offcuts when available and team does not use more material than needed.
  • Plan out all warehouse resources and activities in relation to company objectives and set targets

Procurement

  • Management and follow up of purchase orders
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment, or supplies, determine product availability, price comparisons
  • Inventory control - manage stock levels & locations
  • Manage material requisitions and purchasing from staff
  • Seeking and implementing improvements in operating systems, costs, policies and procedures in the receiving, storage and distribution of goods.
  • Fulfil all documentation requirements for proper warehouse admin, and dispatch.
  • Resolve any invoicing discrepancies, ensuring properly authorised invoices are submitted to AP for payment processing
  • Ensure quality, and budget objectives are followed
  • Develop and implement purchasing, policies and procedures
  • Receive invoicing and verify against purchase orders

Shipping

  • Shipping - Organise all outgoing deliveries for completed jobs
  • Liaise with couriers and freight companies for collections
  • Quality control of all inwards outgoing goods
  • Being the welcoming, friendly face to our many valued customers who pick-up direct from our warehouse door.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have a great attitude, excellent communication skills and the ability to quickly master new operating systems. As well, they will have skills and experience in the following areas:

  • A minimum of 3 years previous warehouse experience - having worked in a supervisor or management role would be a bonus
  • Past experience of setting up warehouse systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy with MS Office and inventory management software
  • Confident and pleasant when interacting with customers
  • A collaborative leader who isn't afraid to get your hands dirty and lead by example
  • Willingness to assist where needed
  • Exceptional eye for detail
  • Forklift license
  • Driver’s license
